Uswitch holds prestigious awards across energy and telecoms, but none specifically for broadband. This project introduced a new award concept designed for partners to promote and celebrate their achievements in the broadband space.

The Challenge
• Design a new award identity that was clearly distinct, yet cohesive with the existing Uswitch Awards suite.
• Create a visual language that effectively represented broadband.
• Ensure the award felt premium and desirable for partners to use in their own marketing.
• Align feedback from multiple stakeholders while working to a short turnaround.

My Role
I started by researching and exploring visual metaphors for broadband, gathering inspiration and assessing what could translate effectively into an award identity. Working collaboratively, we reviewed ideas to determine which directions were viable.
I then developed a series of abstract concepts rooted in the core Uswitch logo, sharing iterations with stakeholders to validate the direction and refine the design. Through multiple feedback rounds, we narrowed the work down to three final concepts and explored colour palettes to finalise the identity.
The Result
• A clean, premium award logo that aligned with the wider Uswitch Awards suite.
• A cohesive visual style that maintained brand consistency while standing apart from existing awards.
• Strong stakeholder buy-in and approval of the final design.

The Impact
Created in 2025, the logo was first awarded to Plusnet for Broadband Excellence. The partner subsequently used the logo across social media, helping validate its appeal and usability.
Key Learning
Working within tight constraints reinforced the importance of simplicity. High-constraint environments require clear, streamlined design systems to ensure adoption and long-term use by teams.
